This page is for my dad and my uncle and my grandpa who find this subject near and dear to their hearts. Example: when my parents came to visit me for my college graduation, my dad was constantly checking out the soil and equipment differences in South Carolina... so here's a glimpse of what it's like down here.
Here's how they pour concrete... by hand with one of those motor driven mixers. There are real cement mixer trucks available from Roseau, but somehow the administration at Ross thinks it would be cheaper to hire 20 guys for a week than hire one truck and 5 guys for a day. Go fig. Even the construction workers think it's funny, but hey, they get a job this way. | |

This truck is from Carnival, it was hauling the band on the back of it, but it's a good example. There are some nice trucks out there, usually Mercedes brand. There's a few gravel pits near Roseau but I don't have pictures of them yet. |
